Miss Waggett's Class

This week in Maths we've been working on addition. We've learnt all about addition fact families using part-whole models and bar models and number bonds within 10 using tens frames.

We spent this afternoon (Monday 2nd October) learning about Harvest Festival. We read a poem all about Harvest and then went on a hunt for autumn leaves and sticks. We used them to make hanging autumn leaf mobiles. We also drew fruit and vegetables mentioned in the poem, decorated the poem and wrote something we were thankful for on our own paper leaf.

In History, we thought about significant people to us and made our own significant people collages. We also introduced our class timeline and placed people and events on the timeline (beyond and within living memory).

We are learning all about numbers to 10 in Maths in Autumn 1. We have been using tens frames and double sided counters to help us.
