Remote Learning Provision
If it is necessary for your child to learn from home due to long term illness, suspension or any other valid reason where your child is capable of completing school work, but unable to attend school, your child's class teacher will provide daily learning tasks in line with the content that is being delivered in their class.
This may (depending on the subject) include worksheets, open-ended tasks and external links to learning. You (on behalf of your child) will be contacted on their first day of absence to discuss their access to remote learning and the expectations surrounding this. The school will provide the necessary equipment for your child to access remote learning. We will be able to print any work packs necessary for your child on request.
You and your child will be contacted by their class teacher throughout their absence, at regular intervals - depending on the term of their absence - to determine how they are progressing with the work and offer any support.
For individual children it will not be possible for the class teacher to provide live remote or recorded teaching, however, in the case of an emerging national pandemic (e.g. Covid19), the arrangements for remote learning will be clarified in depth at the earliest opportunity to all parents and carers.
In a situation where the whole class or majority of the class is absent then live teaching or recorded teaching would be made available as necessary and appropriate.
