Visits, Trips and Staycations!

Superhero Day!

At the end of our wonderful topic 'What makes me a Superhero?', we will be hosting our very own superhero day! As a culmination of the work we have completed around us being superheroes and the attributes we possess that make us so, we will create our own brand new superheroes. During the week commencing 14th October, we will be inviting the children to come to school dressed as the superhero they have created!

The Webb Family's Victorian Christmas

On Tuesday 3rd December we will be visiting Newstead Abbey to travel back in time as we experience the Victorian home of the Webb family at Christmas. Pupils will dress as children of the estate workers and take part preparations for Christmas Day. It will be a day of role play where children will experience the wonders of a grand country house. Throughout the day the children will make sugar mice, play parlour games in the great hall and watch the magic lantern show. This will be part of our second fabulous new topic exploring English history in the Victorian times.

Year 2 Staycation!

New this year, the Year 2 children will be invited to bring their duvets and pillows to school to embark on Abbey's biggest sleepover!

On Friday 5th June,Year 2 will take part in a range of exciting indoor and outdoor activities throughout the day and into the evening including:

  • Tackling an assault course on wheels
  • Exploring rare and tropical animals from around the world
  • BBQ tea and games

After this, the children will make themselves comfy and cosy and settle down for a Pj, popcorn and film session before bedding down for the night in the hall.
