Miss Rushby says "Hi!"

Monday 22nd June

Hi everyone!

It was so great to see most of you during our Zoom sessions last week. I am really looking forward to seeing you all again this week. I have sent out the links and a little heads up for Mums and Dads about the game we will play.

The Times Table Rock Stars battle this week is boys versus girls. Lets get battling!

I hope you all have a great week. The weather forcecast has said the sun will be shining so I can't wait to hear all about the fun you have been having.

Wednesday 10th June

Hello Everyone,

Can you believe we are in the middle of week 12 of home learning! I don't think anyone could have predicted the Lockdown would last this long but I am so proud of how you are all doing at home.

Did you know that you can set up hive games on Spelling shed and send the code to your friends so you can all play along together. A few children on our class have been doing this, what a great idea!

I have been leaving messages and voice notes to those saving their work in the LR class folder on Purple Mash. I hope you have enjoyed these!

Keep doing the best you can everyone, I am here keeping an eye on you all!

P.S - Here a two pictures I have taken recently. One is of the mini cheescake's I bought for my Mamma to celebrate her 84th birthday and the other is of a daisy. I found lots of them growing on a new walking route I have found.

Hi everyone,

I have been so impressed with how you have all got back into your home learning this week after a week off, well done! It has been great to talk to all of your parents this week and even some of you! It really does put a big smile on my face when I hear how fantastic you are all being.

Next week there will be another Times Table Rock Stars battle.  Lets all work together and smash our total from last time. I know you can do it!

Keep sending me pictures of your work, I love seeing what you are all getting up to.

Have a lovely weekend!

Missing you, take care everyone!

Monday 11th May

Hi everyone! Wow, the days are flying by, we only have two weeks left of this half term! I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend and enjoyed any VE Day celebrations that happened where you live. My Mum and Dad had a bagpiper on their street entertaining everyone.

It was my friends, daughters 7th birthday over the weekend so I baked her some caramel and chocolate cupcakes. Of course I had to taste test them so I enjoyed one whilst I read my book in the sun in the garden.

I know that home learning is getting a little tougher for some of you the longer we are in lock down but please keep up the great work I have seen you doing over the past few weeks. I spoke to Mrs Wakefield today and told her all about your hard work. She was so proud of all of you!

Now, lets talk about Times Table Rock Stars! I know it is not everyone's favourite app to go on but we need to give Miss Mumby's class more of a challenge! I know you can do it, just 15 minutes a day each and we could take the lead. Let's do this as a team, although we are far apart, remember we are close at heart!

Missing you lots and can't wait to see you all when it is safe to do so.

Keep smiling everyone!

Friday 1st May

Hi everyone!

It has been great to speak with you all and some of the children. I am so pleased to hear that you are all keeping well and finding your own ways to manage the home learning situation. Yet again I have had lots of emails and beautiful work from the children which I love to receive!

I think it is fair to say we are all having our ups and downs but generally we are getting stuck into the learning tasks and even enjoying lots of them! Great job everyone!

It is Mya's birthday on Sunday so I want to wish her a very happy birthday and I hope you have a lovely day celebrating.

Have a great weekend at home everyone.

Friday 24th April

Good afternoon all,

I hope that you are all keeping safe and well. It has been another busy week of home learning and I have enjoyed looking at all of the pictures you have sent in. It seems you are all working really hard and I know I keep saying it but I am so proud of all of you whatever your situation.

I hope by this time of day you are all outside enjoying this lovely sunshine!

Happy weekend Year 2.

Wednesday 22nd April

Hi everyone. It has been great seeing all your emails come in this week. You are all working so hard, keep up the good work!

One of the things I am doing to have fun during lock down is to take part in virtual fitness classes. Last night was fancy dress Zumba. We dressed up to celebrate someones birthday. I thought you might like to see a picture of my outfit. I reused my cape from our Superhero Day.

Keep smiling everyone!

Monday 20th April

Hello Everyone! Welcome back to home learning as we begin the Summer Term! I hope you all had a fun Easter break and found lots of things to keep you busy at home.

Did anyone have a go at the Super Egg activity? If so I would love to see any pictures you have of your egg hero.

Lewis, Ellie, Finley and Chloe B, I hope you all had fabulous birthdays! It was my dad's birthday last week and I baked him a ginger cake and some lemon tarts.

Jake, did you see the magician on Britain's Got Talent? Wasn't he great, it made me think of you!

Missing you all.

We will not  be updating the website each day but we hope that you all have a fabulous Easter and we will be continue to add learning documents to the website on Monday the 20th April.

Watch out for the Easter bunny! Take care everyone!

Wednesday 1st April

Well goodbye March and hello April! The start of a brand new month. Did anyone's mum, dad, brother or sister play an April fools jokes on them?

I can't believe it is Wednesday already, there has been lots to keep me busy! I have done lots more walking, exploring more of the new area where I live and this week joined in with an Oliver Twist themed dance lesson. See the link below if you want to give it a try.

Keep up the good work Year 2! I am enjoying reading your emails and seeing pictures of your learning and all the other fun things you have been getting up to!

I received a lovely gift through the post from a friend today. It reminded us that although we cannot see our friends right now they still think about us all the time and can't wait to see us again soon!

Have a great day all!

Monday 30th March

Good morning Year 2! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a lovely relaxing weekend at home with your families. I had a busy weekend and enjoyed a very long walk, baked sticky toffee cake and blueberry baked oats and I safely delivered some beautiful spring flowers to the doorsteps of my family members. Do you recognise any of the flowers? I bought them to remind me of school.

I also saw Millie-Mae and Lily's mum whilst shopping at Aldi. It was great to see them and hear all about the great work you are doing girls! Well done!

Have a great day!

Friday 27th March

Good morning Year 2. Happy Friday! We are already at the end of our first week of learning at home and I hope you have all enjoyed the tasks we have been setting you. Are you now feeling more confident in telling the time? Have you completed your Easter Story story maps?

As well as learning I hope you have have had lots of fun with your families! I am making plans for a weekend indoors and baking is definitely on my list. Sticky toffee pudding cakes I think. I will post pictures on Monday.

I am really looking forward to tuning into Chester Zoo Live today. As you know I love butterflies so I will be watching them at 1 p.m whilst I eat my lunch. See below for the timetable and the link.

Have a great day everyone!

Wednesday 25th March

Hi Year 2! I hope you are all taking your superhero roles very seriously and staying at home as much as you can to protect all the people we love. How are you getting on with the home learning tasks? I hope you are enjoying them. There is lots of Easter themed activities coming your way next week.

I have been working hard but also finding lots of jobs to do around home to keep me busy. I have been out in the garden lots and even cut the grass. I have also been joining in with the Joe Wicks daily P.E lessons and even tried some living room Pilates. (See pictures below)

Lewis (and all other Forest supporters) did you see one of the players reading you a story? I thought this was something you would enjoy!

Keep up the good work Year 2!
